Some side projects we hope make a difference to our community.
Besser Space is not-for-profit gallery and event space which hosts creative events and art in a variety of forms. We like pop-ups that celebrate local talent.
Across the past three years, we have worked with local and internationally renowned artists, photographers and fashion designers including Anthony Lister, Reko Rennie, Kaffeine, Lucy Lucy, Jacob Hoerner Galleries, Just Another Agency, Zo Damage, Mik Shida, Slicer, Sofar Sounds and more...
Besser Space is a collab project between the boss ladies of The Social Crew, This Much Talent and Flock Agency. Our aim is to provide artists with an affordable space to hire, which allowed artists to exhibit without any profit made from us as hirers.
*Unfortunately due to the changing landscape of Collingwood, and increase in rental prices, we closed the space in 2018. Stay tuned for the next edition.
Gippslandia is a free quarterly magazine in newspaper format, for, and about, the Latrobe Valley & Gippsland. Established in early 2016, its a new source, which shares all the good things happening and delves a little deeper into the potential of the region.
Driven by The View from Here Studios creative team, Belinda injects back to her hometown community providing consultancy and advising on best practices for brand marketing and growth. We also kick started their social marketing this year for the first 4 issues to increase awareness online + which subsequently got us stocked in Readings, Paperback Bookshop, Brunswick Street Bookstore and a number of cafes around Melbourne's burbs.
Belinda also occasionally writes editorial pieces. Read 'em here: Redefine Space.
A seasoned lecturer in the event discipline, Belinda has written course material and lectured at the Australian College of the Arts, aka CollArts for Events Management students, held Masterclasses at The College of Event Management and takes part in FreeZa's mentoring program for music industry professionals.
We also offer an annual internship which has provided students with on-the-job experience, which aims to assist in their career development and strengthen skills. Many times, this has resulted in working casually with our Crew.
Belinda is also often asked to speak at WorkShops, Seminars or Panels, and participate in activities such as judging music awards or art events.
Some recent events include:
