We love summer and we love festivals.
We have been hitting up festivals all over the world for years. From the early days of the Big Day Out, to Glastonbury, Reading, Isle of Wight, V Festival, London Electronic, SW4, Wireless Hyde Park, Pukkelpop Belgium. It's fair to say we dig our bands and beats.
The one festival that has been on the wish list for years is Victoria's very own, Meredith Music Festival. This year was the first time we had managed to get there! What a brilliant festival.
This years' line-up was pretty great. Every single artist we saw (and missed) were brilliant.
Jagwar Ma, De La Soul, Factory Floor, Phosphorescent, Ty Segall, pink flamingo cocktails
Heading back to camp for a jacket just before The War On Drugs, getting distracted chatting to neighbours, and missing the set completely (despite the main drawcard of the lineup being them initially!). Also the DJ mixing Whitney Houston with John Farnham - maybe we just needed sleep.
Working in the industry, often it is difficult to walk into an event and not find something you would personally do differently. Meredith is different. The organisers of this festival have absolutely and completely nailed it.
From the moment you rise at 4am for prime position in the queue, simply because you are gunning for "Bush Camp" you feel like you are part of a family.
Meredith is your cool Aunty, in every way. It's uniqueness is difficult to explain, so we wont even try.
Mikey sums it up nicely Meredith in Review.
Keep it real Aunty. See you for Golden Plains.
